Reed is a boy who LOVES the weekend. He loves Saturday mornings when he can get up, keep his pjs on, and spend the morning playing with his toys.
We didn’t have a ton of things planned for the weekend, so we thought it might be a good time to plan a fun outing for the kids.
We have a movie theater that gets movies after they would typically leave the normal theater and the cost is $3.00. We thought this might be a good place to take Reed for his first movie theater visit.
We told them Saturday morning if they could be good, we would be heading for a surprise that afternoon. Ava tried to guess all morning where we were going.
Here they were before we left:
On the way there, I snapped this pic of Ava. She looks so old here.
When we arrived, we told them we were going to see Monsters U. (It comes out on DVD today and we could’ve easily just waited for that, but sometimes special outings are fun!) We got in and of course, had to get some popcorn, and headed in for the show!
Reed had fun sitting here for oh, about five seconds.
He then switched to my lap, and he was content if we let him ate popcorn. After we told them to stop, he got restless. We probably won’t be taking him back to a movie for a little while, but we did make it through this one without having to go out. Ava had a great time and it was fun to take them to do something we don’t normally do!
Leslie sent them a Halloween package a couple of weeks ago and I put it away until a little closer to Halloween and thought yesterday was a great day to pull it out while Zach was gone golfing. There were lots of little Halloween activities in there. They had fun with it. I’m not sure what Reed is doing with his face here. He’s quite the character!
We ended the weekend with a pot of chili for dinner! Zach asked me over a week ago if I could make chili. We have some kiddos who love it too!
All in all, it was a great weekend, although it was over WAY too fast. I seriously feel like I blink and it goes from Friday evening to Sunday evening. I’m already ready for the next one!!!
