Project 366: Week 22

 

Water Play!

Monday we filled up Reed’s little pool and let Ava play in the sprinkler. They both loved the water play!

Reed makes the funniest faces. He’s so cute!   Worn out and ready for a nap!!!!

Ava has always been a water baby! She loves swimming and anything to do with the water. She starts swimming lessons in a couple of weeks and I think she’ll really enjoy them. I’m glad she’ll be learning the proper way to swim!!!

I know we’ll be spending lots of time playing outside in the water and swimming this summer!!!!!

Luke’s 1st Birthday!

We spent our Memorial Day Weekend in St. Louis to celebrate our nephew’s first birthday! We headed up Friday afternoon. Ava rode up with my mom and sister so we had a pretty uneventful ride with just little man. He traveled SO well!

I did end up climbing in the back to sit by him and entertain him for a while. He was such a sweetheart!

When we got there, we checked into the hotel and then went over to my Greg and Kelsey’s house for dinner. My mom, brother, and sister were all there as well as many members of Kelsey’s family.

Saturday morning we had breakfast and attempted a picture of my parents with their three grandkids. Not easy. They are all at least looking in this photo!!!! I caught Reed with his new face. :) We then headed out to go shopping for a bit. Ava drove a school bus. Pure happiness!  

For lunch, I got to meet up with sweet Jillian and E! I was so bummed to miss her earlier this year when she was here visiting so I was excited to have the chance to meet up! E was the cutest, best behaved little girl and I loved getting to chat with Jill!! Thank you so much again for taking the time to meet us!!!!

That afternoon we headed back to Greg and Kelsey’s. Luke party wasn’t until later but the kids wanted to swim. We had hoped to swim at the hotel but they were filling the pool Friday night and it didn’t open until Monday, so plan B was to let Luke open one gift (a pool) a little early. The kids all took naps and Ava woke up from hers a little earlier. She was dying to get in the pool but we waited a bit for Luke to wake up. Ava was SO patient and well behaved and I was SO proud of her for being such a big girl and so mature about having to wait.

Last week of school!

Last week was the last week of school for the year. Ava had lots of fun that week. Tuesday morning the school hosted a breakfast for all the preschool parents. They had yummy cinnamon rolls, fruit, drinks, and sweet little gifts from the kids.

Ava made a placemat with her picture, hand print and this sweet little poem on it. Made me tear up!

 

Wednesday was the last day for Ava to wear her uniform. She wore the same thing she wore the very first day. Here’s how she changed! I can’t believe how big she has gotten! The last day of school they had a brief awards assembly. Ava was ready to go! That morning she got the What Would Jesus Do? Award for the second semester. We are SO proud that she exhibits traits and behaves in a way to earn this award. She has grown and matured so much this year and we are SO proud of our little girl!

Project 366: Week 21

 

Catching up

I got into a good blogging groove there for a while and then I fell off the band wagon. I figured I’d just do a big photo dump and catch up and go from there.

Reed is getting SO close to crawling. He can get up on all fours from his belly and he is working on getting there from a sitting position. I don’t think it will be long before he is roaming the house.

This dude has some seriously chubby legs and I love them!!

I caught him napping the other day with his legs crossed and it was so cute! Saturday we played outside for a while and Ava picked some “flowers” (read: weeds) for her daddy!

Ava loves swinging on this bar on the swingset at my parents’ house. She likes to twist up and then hold on while it un-spins.

Reed ADORES Ava. He pretty much thinks she hung the moon, even when she ignores him. :) He follows her when she is in a room with him. 

He is SUCH a sweet boy!!!!

I got to my parents’ house yesterday to pick the kids up and found them on the back patio. Reed was hanging out in Ava’s pink car and he LOVED it!  And there ya go! That’s a lot of what we have been up to! This is the last week of school for Zach and Ava and I know we are all looking forward to a little down time with the start of summer break! We’ve been REALLY busy the last month or so and some down time will be nice!!
