Well, hello there! I took a week away from blogging because I was trying to get caught up from our weekend gone, as well as handling the parenting duties on my own last week b/c Zach had events every evening!
Two weekends ago, we packed up and headed to Table Rock Lake for a long weekend. We met my brothers and their families and my parents there. The only one of us not there was my sister.
Zach had a ball game the night we left, so I got the kids all ready and we picked him up around 7:00 when his obligation was over. The kids were excited to roll out!
The kids were all really excited to see each other and spend a couple days together. We stayed in a large cabin overlooking the lake. It was so fun!
They had so many activities there for all of us to do, including a zip line and my kids had been talking about going to do that since before we got there so it was one of the first activities we did.
They also had a putt-putt course by zip line and playground. What I loved is that everything was right next to the other so the kids could basically do whatever they wanted and they were safe because it was all right there!
We were able to walk down the long dock next to our cabin and we were on the lake! There was so much to do down there for all of us. There was fishing, kayaks, canoes, paddleboats, a huge water trampoline and wooden swings like the one the kids were sitting on above. The Friday we were there, the weather was perfect! The kids were even asking to go swimming even though it wasn’t quite warm enough for that!
Ava LOVED fishing and loved catching fish but once she had them reeled in, she was terrified of them – ha! We could hardly even get her to hold the fishing line to take a picture with her fish!
That evening we all sat downstairs on the bottom porch where there was a fire pit and we roasted marshmallows and made smores. The kids loved it!
And then we sent the kids to bed for a very early bedtime because all of them were VERY tired! :) The adults then played a game and just enjoyed getting to hang out with each other! I’ll share more about the rest of the weekend tomorrow!
Looks like a super fun weekend!! Family time is always priceless.
