September Baby?

We had a doctor's appointment today. Before the appointment, we also had an ultrasound. We were looking to see whether or not my placenta had moved. It was low-lying and that can cause some complications. However, it had moved so there are no worries there anymore!

Ava is a whopper already! She weighs approximately 4 pounds. Yikes! However, her head and her arms and legs were all measuring about a week and a half ahead of where we should be, so we're wondering if maybe she's just a little farther along than we thought. My body is also starting to do some pre-labor things it probably shouldn't be doing yet so who knows? Our doctor said that he was going to watch her and monitor her to make sure she wasn't getting too big. I'm not sure we will make it to our October 2nd due date - she may very well be a September baby! I've been having some pains - nothing too bad and I don't know if they are just discomforts or maybe some mild contractions. We have another doctor's appointment in two weeks. Be thinking of your predictions for her birth - an online baby pool will be coming soon!

Other than that things are quiet here. We have both had busy weeks are glad it's almost the weekend. We have some things we are going to do to get ready for Ava and other than that I'm sure we will take it easy. Who wants to do much when the high is forecasted to be 105? Not me!! :)

Hot @ 30 weeks

It. Is. Hot.
And that's pretty much all I have to say about that.

I am 30 weeks pregnant today. If she were to come on her due date, we'd have ten weeks to go. We have an ultrasound a week from today so I'm curious if we'll get any clues about how big she is, when she might arrive, etc. I can't wait to see another picture of her. Hopefully she will be cooperative and we will have some pictures to share. When we tried to have our 4D ultrasound, she was very uncooperative and would not show us her face. She showed us her legs, her knees, her hands, her feet and she confirmed to us that she is in fact a little girl. But, we got ZERO pictures of her face. It was very disappointing and it was the first time I was mad at her! Zach didn't want me to be mad at her but I assured him it wouldn't be the last time! It was like she was teasing us because she was playing and wiggling and showing us everything except what we wanted to see. So, I'm hopeful that next week's regular ultrasound will go a little more smoothly.

It's been a fairly quiet week so I don't have a whole lot to say. I'm definitely ready for the weekend and some time away from work. Sorry I don't have anything more interesting to say tonight! Maybe next time I will be more entertaining!

Great weekend!!

Yesterday we headed up to NWA to do some more baby shopping. We've been trying to pick up things here and there to avoid the cost of doing it all at once! We once again found some really good deals and little miss is starting to get a nice collection of clothing!

I have been looking for "the outfit" for Ava to wear for her hospital picture and home from the hospital and I just hadn't found anything that I liked - until yesterday. I found this adorable pink coverall set and just loved it instantly. I almost didn't buy it b/c it wasn't marked down quite like the other clothes I'd been buying. However, we got to the checkout counter and realized we needed to spend just a couple more dollars to save $10, so I went back and got it!

I also found this adorable little outfit. Of course, I think it is technically a little boy outfit, but I really liked it and so did Zach, so who cares? Little girls can play baseball or it could just as easily be a little softball uniform!

The last piece I'll showcase from yesterday pretty much sums up what our life is going to be like from here on out:

We thought this was cute and I have a feeling it will end up being pretty accurate! It also reminded me of a friend of mine. We used to work together and the running joke at the office was that it was all about her, so when I saw this little onesie it made me think of her! :)

After we finished shopping we headed a little further north to eat dinner at one of our favorite restaurants - Abuelo's!! We had a nice dinner and then headed back home. It was a fun day, although a little exhausting. With it getting hotter outside, I'm starting to get a little more tired so I was ready to call it a day.

We went to church this morning and don't have much planned for the rest of the day. Why is it that the weekends always seem to go so much faster than any day in the work week???

Hope all of you had a great weekend too!!

Rookie post

It's hard to figure out what to say in the first post, so here we go. Tomorrow marks the 29th week of pregnancy. It's hard to believe how fast it is going. We've gotten a lot of things ready but we still have many things to do. I guess this is as good a place as any to announce that we have finally picked a name for our little girl:

Ava Mackenize

We had the hardest time making up our minds but are glad to finally have it figured out. Now we can just focus on getting everything else ready for her.

Summer break is more than halfway over for Zach. He has really enjoyed his time off. I must say that I have enjoyed it too. He's been more than helpful around the house and I haven't missed doing house work. I have really enjoyed not having to go grocery shopping! I'll definitely miss those little things when he goes back to work. It's nice while it lasts though. At least I know I'll have next summer to look forward to! :)

I think that's good for a first post! Stay tuned - there's no telling what the next few months will bring!!
