Project 366: Weeks 14 & 15

   

Easter 2012

We had a great day celebrating our Lord’s Resurrection! Last week, Ava came home from school one day and told me her teacher had read her a story. I asked her what about and she said, “That Jesus die on the cross. And then He come back. And that makes us SO SO happy!” Precious words.

I love that Ava goes to a school (and will for many years!) where they can talk about Jesus and focus on the important things. They made shirts last week for the kids to wear the last day before their break. Ava was so proud!

We did get a visit from the Easter bunny! Ava was excited for the little goodies left for her!

Reed got a new toy too!

Since we had a threat of rain, the EB hid some eggs in the house for Ava to find! 

We attempted pictures before church. That was no easy feat and it did not produce very many great shots.

We tried a couple more shots after church on this cute bench at my parents’ house. 

This would have been a great family pic if I didn’t look so rough. Lots of no sleeping due to a sickly baby = big dark circles under eyes.

We had a big family lunch at my grandma’s house and after that, headed to my aunt and uncle’s house for our big traditional egg hunt. It’s quite the spectacle. And incredibly fun! Even Reed took part! Clara and Ava listening to the rules! We had a very fun and blessed day!

Happy 1/2 Birthday, Reed!

Sweet little Reed, how can you already be six months old? It’s unbelievable that you’ve already been with us for half a year. Six months ago, we were facing so much uncertainty about your first days of life. It hurt your mama’s heart so badly that we couldn’t hold you and love on you. We have come SO far since that day, precious boy. You are a HEALTHY, happy, thriving baby boy and we are filled with overwhelming love for you.

At six months you have become quite the busy little boy. Here’s what you are up to:

• You can sit up!!!
• You love to put your feet in your mouth!
• You are interested in eating solids some days and others not so much. You are not a fan of oatmeal and prefer rice cereal over it. Your sister was the opposite.
• You do seem to like your fruits and your veggies.
• You are babbling up a storm.
• When you get excited, you kick your little feet like crazy and wave your arms. It’s cute.
• You are wearing some 6 month clothes and some 9 month clothes.
• Your 6 month check up is a little delayed because your 4 month check up was because you were sick.
• You are in Size 2 diapers.
• You eat 30ish ounces a day. Most days you eat very little at school and then come home and want to eat like crazy until bed time.
• You grab at EVERYTHING!
• You have had some rough nights of sleeping as of late and we think you are either growing or teething. Whatever the case, please do it fast b/c I’m tired!!!

You and your sister love each other!!!

Our life is SO full because you are in it! We love you SO much and are beyond blessed that you our ours! I love you, baby boy!

Park fun!!!

Minus the fact that it has already gotten hot, we have had some beautiful weather!!! The kids have both enjoyed that we’ve been able to spend time outside! We’ve made several trips to the park and I hope the heat this year isn’t as unbearable as it was last summer and we can spend some evenings playing!

Ava has gotten really brave and has started climbing more things and trying to do things she hasn’t been able to in years past! She’s quite fearless and I’m glad she has a sense of adventure but she makes me slightly nervous at times!!!

And the BEST part about trips to the park??? They completely wear out this sweet little girl and she goes to bed VERY early and VERY easily! :)
